Gerhard Braun, a farmer, his wife Katharina, and children (Simon, age 24; Franz, age 22; Gerhard, age 20; Barbara, age 17¼; Nikolaus, age 16¼) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 9 June 1766 aboard the ship Die Jungfer Friederika under the command of Skipper Hans Christian Korsholm.
Gerhard Braun, a farmer, his wife Margaretha, and children by his 1st wife (Gerhard, age 21; Maria Barbara, age 18; Nikolaus, age 17) settled in the Volga German colony of Preuss on 12 May 1767. They are recorded on the 1767 census in Household No. 50.
The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Gerhard Braun came from the German region of Engelhelms. The 1767 census records that Gerhard Braun came from the German village of Hüffelsheim in the Kurmainz.
