Johann Heinrich Braun and Elisabetha Catharina Seitz, daughter of Johannes Seitz, married in Heckenbergheim on 8 January 1751. The births and baptisms of two of their children have been located in the parish records of Heckenbergheim: (1) Anna Catharina, born 23 April 1751; and (2) Johannes, born 13 May 1761.
[Johann] Heinrich Braun, a farmer, and his family arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 19 September 1766 aboard a ship under the command of Skipper Johann Hermann Anderson.
They settled in the Volga German colony of Walter on 25 August 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 80.
The 1767 census records tha t Johann Heinrich Braun came from the German village of Deckerbergheim in the Hanau region.
