An article by Hermann Wäschke records the following:
(unnamed) Braußmann, with his wife and two children, from Fraßdorf.
Gottfried Brausmann, a farmer, and his family arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 4 July 1766 aboard the English frigate Love & Unity under the command of Skipper Thomas Fairfax.
Gottfried Brausmmann [sic], his wife Maria, and sons (Christian, age 10¼; Christoph, age ¾) are recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.
They settled in the Volga German colony of Boisroux on 7 June 1767 and are recorded there (as Gottlieb Brausemann) on the 1767 census in Household No. 31.
In 1787, Christian Brausemann moved from Boisroux to Bettinger.
Both the Oranienbaum passenger list and the 1767 census record that the Brausmann family came from the German region of Dessau.
