Brokin
Johann Brokin and his family arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 8 August 1766 aboard the Danish galliot Der Engel Rafael under the command of Skipper Ehlert Kongsted.
They settled in the Volga German colony of Warenburg on 12 May 1767. His wife Anna Sophia died on 27 August 1767. The surviving members of the family are recorded on the 1767 census of Warenburg in Household No. 107.
The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Johann Brokli [sic] was a gloves maker.
The 1767 census records that he was a master tanner of suede (German = Sämischgerbermeister; Russian = мастер замшевый).
The Oranienbaum passenger list records that he came from Prussia while the 1767 census records that he came from the German village of Stolb in the Nassau region.
