Discussion & Documentation
Stanislaus Brotzmann settled in the Volga German colony of Enders. His orphaned son Jakob (age 5) is recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 24 along with the Peter Dotz family. There is no relationship recorded between the Brotzmann and Dotz families.
Orphaned son Jakob Brotzmann and his descendants are recorded on subsequent records with the surname of Dotz, so this Brotzmann surname does not continue among the Volga German colonies.
The 1767 census records that Jakob Brotzmann came from the Polish village of Krenreaus [?].
