Peter Buchmeier, a tailor (Schneider), and his wife Sophia Helena settled in the Volga German colony of Rosenheim on 27 July 1765. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 24.

The 1767 census records that Peter Buchmeier came from the German town of Kiel in the Holstein region.
