Franz Budior, a farmer, and his family immigrated to Russia, arriving from Lübeck at the port in Oranienbaum aboard the ship Mann & Frau on 18 June 1766.

They settled in the Volga German colony of Preuss on 15 July 1767 where they are recorded on the 1767 census in Household No. 90.

The 1767 census records that Johannes Haal came from the village of Viglain in France.
