Discussion & Documentation

Edmund Büge, a single tailor (Schneider), arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 15 September 1766 aboard the ship Der Junge Heinrich under the command of Skipper Heinrich Niemann.

He settled in the Volga German colony of Kartharinenstadt on 17 August 1767 and is recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 188.

The 1767 census records that Edmund Büge came from the German village of Hilbersheim.

There are no surviving male descendants of this family among the Volga German colonies.
