Discussion & Documentation
Karl Christian Burmeister, a tailor (Schneider), his wife Margaretha Dorothea, and daughter Katharina Brigitte settled in the Volga German colony of Kratzke on 7 August 1766. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 5.
The 1767 census records that Karl Christian Burmeister came from the German village of Schwerin in the Mecklenburg region.
There do not appear to be any surviving male descendants of this Burmeister family among the Volga German colonies.
