Discussion & Documentation

Heinrich Busch arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 15 September 1766 aboard a ship under the command of Skipper Hans Karholm.

Heinrich Busch is recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.

Johann Heinrich Busch, a farmer, his wife Anna, and her siblings (Johann Heinrich Wilke, age 20; Johannes, age 17) are recorded on the 1767 census of Bettinger in Household No. 20. They had settled there on 3 August 1767.

The 1767 census records that Johann Heinrich Busch came from the German region of Kiel.

There are no known surviving male lines of this Busch family among the Volga German colonies.
