Kaspar Buschau, a farmer, and his family arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 15 September 1766 aboard the galliot Adler under the command of Skipper Paul Adam Drath.

They settled in the Volga German colony of Seelmann on 5 September 1767. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 55.

The 1767 census records that Kaspar Buschau came from the German village of Kissingen [?] in the Würzburg region.
