Dörr (Walter)
Johann Michael Dörr, son of Georg Wilhelm Dörr and Anna Christina Stoll, was baptized 25 January 1718 in Kaichen, Hessen, Germany. He married 22 October 1737 in Kaichen to Anna Susanna Fauerbach.
[Johann] Michael Dörr, a farmer, his wife Susanna, and sons (Johann [Peter], age 20; Heinrich, age 18) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 22 July 1766 aboard the pink Lev under the command of Lieutenant Fyodor Fyodorov.
They settled in the Volga German colony of Walter on 25 August 1767 where widower Michael is recorded in Household No. 7 and son Peter in Household No. 8.
The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Michael Dörr came from the German region of Friedberg. The 1767 census records that he came from the German village of Karben in the region of Friedberg.
This family has been traced back to a Joachim Dörr of Erbstadt, Hessen.
