Jakob Danowski, a nobleman (Edelmann), and his family settled in the Volga German colony of Husaren on 13 June 1765. He is recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 7 along with his wife Matrena and son Nefedi (age 2).

The 1767 census records that Jakob Danowski came from the Polish village of Sweg [?].
