Delsop*

Franz Delsop and his wife Concordia arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 15 September 1766 aboard a ship under the command of Skipper Franz Nikolaus Schröder.

Frantz Delsop and his wife Conradin [sic] are recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767 along with a note that Conradin [sic] died en route.

Franz Delsop, a hatmaker (Hutmacher), his wife Regina (Anna Maria), and daughters (Christina, age 15; Anna, age 12) are recorded on the 1767 census of Katharinenstadt in Household No. 72. They had settled there on 27 August 1766.

The 1767 census records that Franz Delsop came from the village of Liège and that his wife came from the German village of Liepzig in Sachsen (Saxony).

There are no known surviving male lines of this family among the Volga German colonies.
