Widower Johann Friedrich Demert, a craftsman (Handwerker), and his daughter Friedrika Maria Margaretha (age 14) settled in the Volga German colony of Frank and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 60.
The 1767 census records that Johann Friedrich Demert came from the German village of Neustadt bei Dresden in the region of Sachsen (Saxony).
There are no known surviving male lines of this family among the Volga German colonies.
