Dening (Warenburg)*
Friedrich Gottlieb Dening and his wife Anna Katharina arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 15 September 1766 aboard the Danish galliot Nord Stern under the command of Skipper Detlev Belling.
Fridrich Gottlieb Demming [sic] and his wife Anna Catrina are recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.
They settled in the Volga German colony of Warenburg on 12 May 1767 and is recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 81.
The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Friedrich Gottlieb Dening was a book binder while the 1767 census records that Gottlieb Dening was a translator (Übersetzer).
The 1767 census records that Gottlieb Dening came from the German town of Dresden in Sachsen (Saxony).
There are no known surviving male lines of this Dening family among the Volga German colonies.
