Discussion & Documentation

Dominicus Deprad from Bruchsal & Anna Cathar. Diehl were married on 5 March 1766 in the Lutheran Church of Büdingen.

Dominikus Deprat and his wife Katharina arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 18 June 1766 aboard the Die Perle under the command of Skipper Thomson.

They settled in the Volga German colony of Göbel on 20 August 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 17.

Dominikus Debrat and his wife are recorded on the 1798 census of Göbel in Household No. Gb72.

The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Dominikus Deprat was a teacher from the German village of Birkenzell. The 1767 census records that he was a craftsman (Handwerker) from the German village of Bruchsal.

There are no known surviving male lines of this family among the Volga German colonies.
