Johann Ditmar [sic], a farmer, his wife Elisabeth, and son Johann (age 2½) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 29 May 1766 aboard a galliot named Adler (Eagle) under the command of the Skipper Paul Adolph Drath.
Johann Daniel Detler, a baker (Bäcker), his wife Katharina Elisabeth, and son Johann Peter (age 8-weeks) are recorded on the 1767 census of Warenburg in Household No. 22. They had settled there on 12 May 1767.
Both the Oranienbaum passenger list and the 1767 census record that Johann Daniel Detler came from the German town of Lübeck.
There are no known surviving male lines of this Detler family among the Volga German colonies.
