Dickmann (Messer-1)*

Johann Conrad Dickmann, son of Sigmund & Johanetta Elisabeth Dickmann, was baptized in Bücheson 20 May 1730. He married Anna Apollonia Hart, daughter of Henrich Peter & Anna Catharina Hart, on 6 February 1755 in Wolf. Anna Apollonia Hart had been baptized 9 March 1727 in Wolf. The baptisms of two daughters are recorded in Büches: (1) Anna Catharina Maria, baptized 1 June 1759; and (2) Anna Catharina, baptized 10 January 1762. 

Konrad Dickmann, a weaver, his wife Anna, children (Katharina Maria, age 7; Katharina, age 4; Heinrich, age 1½), and sister-in-law Anna [surname not recorded] arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 4 July 1766 aboard the English frigate Love & Unity under the command of Skipper Thomas Fairfax.

They settled in the Volga German colony of Messer on 18 June 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 3.

The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Konrad Dickmann was a weaver while the 1767 census records that he was a craftsman (Handwerker).

Both documents record that Konrad Dickmann came from the German district of Isenburg.

There are no known surviving male lines of this Dickmann family among the Volga German colonies.
