Son Johannes Diehl and his wife are recorded on the 1798 census of Mariental in Household No. Mt56. Son Joseph Diehl and his family are recorded on the 1798 census of Mariental in Household No. Mt42.
The death of Joseph Diehl in 1818 is recorded on the 1834 census of Mariental in Household No. 218.
The 1767 census records that Johannes Thiel came from the German village of Saargemünd in the region of Lothringen.
