Dittenber (Kukkus)
Georg Dittenbier [sic], a farmer, his wife Magdalena, and children (Jakob, age 10; Maria, age 7) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 21 July 1766 aboard a koff named Alette under the command of Skipper Wybe Hendricks.
Son Jakob Dittenberger [sic] (age 10¼) and his sister Anna Margaretha [sic] (age 9) are recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.
Jacob Dittenberg [sic] (age 13) and his sister Anna Margaretha (age 10) are recorded on the 1767 census of Kukus in Household No. 50 along with the Wilhelm Kloss family. They had settled in Kukkus on 26 June 1767. The 1767 census does not record a relationship between the Dittenberg and Kloss families.
The death of Jakob Dittenber in 1821 is recorded on the 1834 census of Kukkus in Household No. 23.
The 1767 census records that he came from the German village of Tanhalzen near Braunfels.
