Johann Just Döring, a single cobbler (Schuster), arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 15 August 1766 aboard a galliot named Diana under the command of Skipper Markus Draguhn.
Johann Just Thüring [sic] is recorded on a list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.
He settled in the Volga German colony of Norka on 26 August 1767 where he is recorded on the 1767 census in Household No. 192 along with his new wife Anna Margaretha.
The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Just Döring is a cobbler while the 1767 census records that he is a craftsman (Handwerker). Both documents record that he came from the German region of Stolberg.
There are no known surviving male lines of this Döring family among the Volga German colonies.
