Discussion & Documentation
Orphan Peter Dotz (age 15) settled in the Volga German colony of Schwed on 27 July 1765. He is recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 9 along with his uncle, Matthias Lüdander who was from the Swedish city of Stockholm.
The 1767 census records that Peter Dotz came from the Swedish village of Freiholm [?]. There may be a connection between this Dotz family and the one in the colony of Enders.
There are no known surviving male lines of this Dotz family among the Volga German colonies.
