Discussion & Documentation

Georg Heinrich Eckardt, a master porcelain maker (Meister für Porzellanherstellung), his wife Anna Katharina Fromm, and son Johann (age 5) are recorded on the 1767 census of Katharinenstadt in Household No. 64. They had settled there on 5 March 1767.

The 1767 census records that Georg Heinrich Eckardt came from the German village of Klauser in the Hannover region and that Anna Katharina Fromm is from the German village of Glückstadt in the Holstein region.

There are no known surviving male lines of this family among the Volga German colonies.
