Discussion & Documentation

Johann Martin & Barbara Eisele had four children: (1) Regina Katharina, baptized in August 1749 in the Ruit Evangelical Church, just north of Ölbronn; (2) Barbara, born in 1749; (3) Elisabetha, born in 1750; and (4) Johann Georg Wendel, born on 13 April 1757 and baptized on 14 April 1757 in the Ölbronn Evangelical Church.

Johann Martin and his family immigrated to Denmark (Schleswig-Holstein), departing from Altona, Duchy of Holstein, on 29 June 1761 under the leadership of Johann Thomas Gabler. They arrived in the city of Schleswig, Duchy of Schleswig, on 4 July 1761.

All of them lived in Denmark until 24 April 1765, when they immigrated to Russia. Johann Martin, his wife and the children Barbara, Elisabetha, & Georg Wendel arrived in the Volga German colony of Rosenheim on 15 March 1766. They are recorded there on the 1767 Census in Household No. 52.

Georg Wendel is recorded on the 1798 census of Rosenheim in Household No. Rm39.

Wendelmus Eisler [sic] and his wife are recorded on the 1834 census of Rosenheim in Household No. 49.

The death of Wendelmus Eisler [sic] in 1839 is recorded on the 1850 census of Rosenheim in Household No. 76.

There are no known surviving male lines of this family among the Volga German colonies.
