Discussion & Documentation:

The marriage of Johann Christian Eiseler and Rahel Elisabeth Eckart is recorded on 27 June 1766 in the parish register of Coswig. It reads as follows:

"den 27. Juni 1766 ist Johann Christian Eiseler, ein Zimmermann, Kaiserlicher Russischer Kolonist und Jungfrau Rahel Elisabeth Eckartin in hiesiger Kirche eingesegnet und getraut worden."

[Translation: On 27 June 1766 the marriage of Johann Christian Eiseler, a carpenter and Imperial Russian Colonist, and the virgin Rahel Elisabeth Eckart was consecrated in the local church.]

[There is a Christian Eisler, a single man, who arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 21 September 1766. To determine whether this is the same Christian Eisler needs further research.]

Christian Eissler and his wife Rahel are recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.

Christian Eisler and his wife Rachel are recorded on an appendix to the 1767 census of Paulskaya in Household No. 37.

The widow of Christian Eisler and their children are recorded on the 1798 census of Zürich in Household No. Zr13.

The 1767 census records that Christian Eisler came from the German village of Rackith.

[Some publications have recorded this surname as Ensler.]
