Elscheidt (Zürich)
An appendix to the 1767 census of Nieder-Monjou (No. 125) records that Christian Elscheidt, a single cobbler (Schuhmacher), settled in the Volga German colony of Zürich in 1768.
The 1798 census records that he had moved to the Caucasus before 1788, but by 1798 had returned to Zürich where he is recorded in Household No. Zr49.
The death of Konrad Elscheidt, son of Christian Elscheidt, is recorded in 1832 on the 1834 census of Enders in Household No. 54 along with a note that he and his family had moved there from Zürich in 1825.
The 1767 census records that Christian Elscheidt came from the German village of Heina.
