Zacharius Elzow and his wife Anna settled in the Volga German colony of Galka on 1 July 1765. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 20.

The 1767 census records that Zacharius Elzow came from the German village of Meisdorf in Prussia.

There are no known surviving male lines of this family among the Volga German colonies.
