Joh. Georg Ernst and his wife Lucia [sic] Barbara are recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.

Johann Georg Ernst, a craftsman (Handwerker), and is wife Louisa [sic] Barbara settled in the Volga German colony of Messer on 14 September 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 85.

The 1767 census records that Johann Georg Ernst came from the German district of Hannover.
