Eschler
Johann Anton Eschler, a farmer, Katharina Magdalena, and children (Dorothea [Deilof], age 15; Johann [Deilof], age 10; Friedrich Christian, age 7; Maria Margaretha, age 2½; Johann Christoph, age ¾) settled in the Volga German colony of Kamenka on 28 April 1766. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 52.
The 1767 census records that Johann Anton Eschler came from the German village of Kamnitz [may refer to the German name for Česká Kamenice, today located in the Czech Republic].
There do not appear to be any surviving male descendants of the Eschler family among the Volga German colonies.
