Widower Anton Etzel, a farmer, and his children (Katharina, age 17; Burgardt, age 13) are recorded on the 1767 census of Pfeifer in Household No. 55. They had settled in Pfeifer on 20 August 1767.

Anton Etzel, his [new] wife, daughter, and daughter's family are recorded on the 1798 census of Pfeifer in Pf73.

Burgardt Etzel and his family are recorded on the 1798 census of Pfeifer in Household No. Pf37.

The 1767 census records that Anton Etzel came from the German village of Wertheim in the district of Franken (Franconia).
