The baptisms of the following children born to Johann Heinrich & Elisabeth Vest/West are recorded in the parish register of Oberreifenberg: (1) Joseph Philipp, born 7 September 1747, baptized 8 September 1747; (2) Mathias, born & baptized 13 July 1749; (3) Anna Elisabetha, baptized 26 May 1752; (4) Anna Maria, baptized 20 November 1755; (5) Anna Margaretha, baptized 6 January 1759; and (6) Anna Elisabetha, born 5 October 1764, baptized 7 October 1764.
Heinrich Fest, a farmer, his wife Elisabeth, and children (Johann, age 24; Mattias, age 18; Anna, age 14; Maria, age 11; Martin, age 7) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 22 July 1766 aboard the galliot named Der Junge Mattias under the command of Skipper Johann Gottfried Selander.
They settled in the Volga German colony of Dehler on 1 July 1767. Widower Heinrich Fest and his children (Mattias, age 19; Anna Elisabeth, age 14; Anna Maria, age 11; Martin, age 7) are recorded on the 1767 census of Dehler in Household No. 14 along with a note that Heinrich's wife had died there on 10 October 1767. Son Johann Philipp Fest and his [new] wife Elisabeth Margaretha are recored in Household No. 15 on the 1767 census of Dehler.
The 1767 census records that the Fest family came from the German village of Reifenberg in Bassenheim.
