Frühwald*
Gottfried Frühwald, a farmer, and his wife Dorothea settled in the Volga German colony of Schwed on 1 July 1766. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 15.
The 1767 census records that Gottfried Frühwald came from the area of Berlin in the German region of Prussia.
[An article by Hermann Wäschke records the following: "Christian Tauer [sic], a thresher (Drescher) from Wörlitz; along with Wulff and Freywald, Tauer surely intends to move to Russia because he openly admits it and is selling his belongs. All three are negligent, lazy fellows. They have no debts."
Another entry in the Wäschke article records: "(unnamed) Freywald, from Wörlitz, living in the "Roten Haus," intending to go to Russia.]
There are no known surviving male lines of this family among the Volga German colonies.
