Michael Frank, a farmer, and his wife Anna settled in the Volga German colony of Beauregard on 27 August 1766. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 22 along with their two-week-old son, Johann.

The 1767 census records that Michael Frank came from the German village of Zaberetenheim.
