Discussion & Documentation
Andreas Frank, a farmer, and his wife Eva Magdalena (along with his mother-in-law, Maria Katharina) settled in the Volga German colony of Galka on 1 July 1765. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 23 along with their newborn son, Andreas.
The 1767 census records that Andreas Frank came from the German town of Libau in Kurland [today: Latvia].
There are no known surviving male lines of this Frank family among the Volga German colonies.
