Johan Georg Freÿ, assistant craftsman (Handl. Bedienter) from Leipzig, & Anna Elisab. Hoffmann, widow from the area of Hessen, daughter of Christian Gilt, were married on 20 jun e1766 in Rodeman's house in Lübeck. The marriage is recorded in the parish register of St. Jacob's Lutheran Church in Lübeck.

Johann Georg Frei, a farmer, and his wife Elisabeth settled in the Volga German colony of Susannental on 3 August 1767. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 32.

The 1767 census records that Johann Georg Frei came from the German village of Leimbach in the region of Sachsen (Saxony).
