Friedrich Fres, a single weaver (Weber), settled in the Volga German colony of Kratzke on 7 August 1766. He is recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 28.

The 1767 census records that Friedrich Fres came from the German region of Hamburg.

There are no known surviving male descendant lines of this family among the Volga German colonies.
