Discussion & Documentation

Peter Frick, a single man, arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 4 July 1766 aboard the galliot Die Fortuna under the command of Skipper Peter Stahl.

He settled in the Volga German colony of Dönhof on 18 June 1767 and is recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 63 along with his wife Anna Marta, the widow of Heinrich Strauch, and her children.

The Oranienbaum passenger list records that he was a baker while the 1767 census records that he was a farmer.

Both documents record that Peter Frick came from the German region of Darmstadt.
