Katharina Fuchs, widow of a farmer, and her daughter Katharina Elisabeth (age 17), settled in the Volga German colony of Galka on 27 July 1767. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 52.

The 1767 census records that Katharina Fuchs came from the German village of Steinberg.
