Joseph Götz, a hunter (Jäger), and his unnamed wife settled in the Volga German colony of Brabander on 19 August 1767. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 108 along with a note that she died 30 September 1767.
In 1780, widow Joseph Götz left Brabander.
The 1767 census records that Joseph Götz came from the German village of Vilseck in the Bamberg region.
