Konrad Gaul, a farmer, his wife Anna, and children (Johann, age 14; Anna, age 2½) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 21 July 1766 aboard a koff named Alette under the command of Skipper Wybe Hendricks.
They settled in the Volga German colony of Kukkus on 26 June 1767 where they are recorded on the 1767 census in Household No. 15.
The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Konrad Gaul came from the German region of Pfalz. The 1767 census records that he came from the German village of Albig in the Kurpfalz.
There are no known surviving male lines of this family among the Volga German colonies.
