Andreas Gautier, a bread baker (Semmelbäcker), and his wife Christina Florot settled in the Volga German colony of Franzosen on 16 May 1766. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 43.

The 1767 census records that Andreas Gautier came from the French village of Avène.

There are no known surviving male lines of this family among the Volga German colonies.
