Discussion & Documentation

Kaspar Geist, a farmer, and his wife Anna arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 19 September 1766 aboard a ship under the command of Johann Hermann Anderson.

Caspar Geist and his wife Anna Maria are recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.

Kaspar Geist and his family are recorded there on the 1798 census in Household No. Hs074. His son is believed to be recorded there in Household No. Hs076.

The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Kaspar Geist came from the German region of Darmstadt.
