Gläser (Brabander)*

Ludwig Gläser, a farmer, and his family arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 15 September 1766 aboard the galliot Adler under the Skipper Paul Adam Drath.

Ludwig Glaser, his wife Margretha, and children (Barbara, age 18½; Peter, age 16; Philipp, age 13; Johan, age 11; Johanna, age 8; Catharina, age 4; Maria, age ½, died en route) are recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.

They settled in the Volga German colony of Brabander on 19 August 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 44.

The 1767 census records that Ludwig Gläser came from the German village of Schet in the region of Trier.

There are no known surviving male lines of this family among the Volga German colonies.
