There are two Glock families that settled in the Volga German colony of Preuss on 15 July 1767. They had both arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 9 June 1766 aboard the ship Die Jungfer Friederika (The Maiden Friederika) under the command of Skipper Hans Christian Korsholm. Their relationship to each other, if any, needs further research.
(1) The parish register of Saint Crutzen Catholic Church in Weißkirchen records the marriage of Heinrich Glock, son of the deceased Nikolaus & Elisabetha Glock of Stierstadt, on 22 April 1750 to Elisabetha Steinbach, daughter of the deceased Johannes Steinbach & the deceased Anna Christina.
Heinrich Glock, a farmer, his wife Elisabeth, and son Ludwig (age 16) arrived in Oranienbaum.
Heinrich Glock and his wife Maria Elisabeth are recorded on the 1767 census of Preuss in Household No. 2.
[The publication of the 1767 by Igor Plehve records that Heinrich Glock is a clerk (писарь), but he is a baker (пекарь).]
(2) The parish register of Saint Ursula Catholic Church in Oberursel records the marriage of widower Nikolaus Glock of Stierstadt on 28 November 1758 to widow Susanna Messer née Steinbach, daughter of Johannes & Christina Steinbach and widow of Martin Messer. She had been born in 1718.
Johann Nikolaus Glock, a farmer, his wife Susanna, and [step-]son Heinrich [Messer] (age 14) arrived in Oranienbaum.
Susanna and her son survived the journey and are recorded on the 1767 census of Preuss in Household No. 132.
The Oranienbaum passenger list records that these Glock families came from the German region of Mainz. The 1767 census records that both of these families came from the German village of Stierstadt in the Kurmainz.
There are no known surviving male lines of these Glock families among the Volga German colonies.
