Johann Heinrich Gorg, a stocking maker (Strumpfwirker), his wife Katharina Susanna, and daughter Anna Margaretha (age 4-weeks) are recorded on the 1767 census of Warenburg in Household No. 163. They had settled there on 12 May 1767.
The 1767 census records that Johann Heinrich Gorg came from the German village of Michelbach in the Hanau region.
There are no known surviving male lines of this family among the Volga German colonies.
