Gottwig (Walter)
Johann Tobias Gottwig, a farmer, his wife Anna Margaretha, and son Philipp Ludwig (age 8) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 10 August 1766 aboard the Russian pink Vologda under the command of Lieutenant Sergey Bartenyev.
Johann Tobias Gottwig, his wife Margaretha, and son Philipp (age 9) are recorded on the 1767 census of Walter in Household No. 37. They had settled in Walter on 25 August 1767.
Philipp Gottwig and his family are recorded on the 1798 census of Walter in Household No. Wt048.
The 1767 census records that Johann Tobias Gottwig came from the German village of Schwateter in the region of Isenburg.
