Maria Elisabeth Guwst, widow of an unnamed craftsman (Handwerker), and her daughter Maria Barbara (age 3) are recorded on the 1767 census of Moor in Household No. 49. They had settled there on 18 June 1767.

The 1767 census records that Maria Elisabeth Guwst came from the German region of Kurpfalz.

There are no known surviving male lines of this family among the Volga German colonies.
