Kaspar Haal, a farmer, his wife Anna, and children (Andreas, age 11; Anna, age 9; Johann, age 6; Peter, age 4; Maria, age 2) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 9 June 1766 aboard the ship Mann und Frau under the command of Skipper Daniel Berg.
They settled in the Volga German colony of Preuss on 15 July 1767 where they are recorded on the 1767 census in Household No. 85.
The 1767 census records that Karpar Haal came from the German village of Birkheim in the Kurtrier region.
There are no known surviving male lines of this Haal family among the Volga German colonies.
