Johannes Haas, son of Wolfgang & Magdalena Haas, married on 29 October 1764 in St. Sebastian Catholic Church in Hallerndorf to Magdalena Haug, daughter of Joseph & Anna Haug.
The birth of one daughter to Johannes Haas & Cunigunda [sic] Haug is recorded in the parish register of St. Sebastian Catholic Church in Hallerndorf: Margaretha, baptized 28 April 1765.
Johann Haas, a farmer, his wife Magdalena, and daughter Margaretha (age 1) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 12 September 1766.
Johan Hase [sic], his wife Magdalena, and daughter Margretha (age 1¼) are recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767 along with a note that Margretha died en route.
They settled in the Volga German colony of Leitsinger on 19 August 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 48.
The 1767 census records that Johann Haas came from the German village of Hallerndorf in the Bamberg district.
There are no known surviving male lines of this Haas family among the Volga German colonies.
